Coaches & Managers

One of the essential functions of coaches and team managers is to manage team communications with players and their families.  If you are a coach or team manager, please view the Ohio Tide Coaches Guide, to help you use our website and mobile app to efficiently and effectively communicate and manage your teams. Please scroll down to the bottom of the page and view the Essential Coach How-To's section.

This will continue to be a place we provide helpful resources or important information.

You make the difference for each player's experience and development! Here are some expectations that we all should follow during the season.

  • Be at the field 15 minutes before players expected to arrive
  • Be prepared with lineup (including sub plan for game) & equipment
  • Be organized with umpire check forms before & after the game
  • Be energetic and positive, talk with the kids throughout the game
  • Be approachable by parents, converse with them during game (where appropriate)
  • Roster bat for 10U/11U, work multiple pitchers for 10U/11U
  • Be the last one to leave the field

Mandatory Responsbilities

  1. Umpire Cash –  You will be responsible for the cash for UMPs for your season games and will need to complete this brief form to document UMP payment for each game.

  2. Team Communications – In the Sports Engine App Chat or Messages

  3. Schedule Changes (cancel, rain, reschedule) – In the Sports Engine App Schedule

  4. Monitor Attendance via RSVPs (for practices and games) – In the Sports Engine App Schedule

Helpful Tips

Managing Attendance of Players

To view attendance of players, please open the Sports Engine App. Click Schedule, Click on any event, then click to the RSVP's section on the top left. This will display all players who have accepted, declined or are possibly attending practice. You can click on any event to view RSVP's, using this process.

Team Communications

Please open the Sports Engine App. Please click on Messages. This allows to to view your Inbox, Sent and Trash folders. Click on the + sign in the top right corner to send a message. You can then select who the message is being sent to; you can message the entire team, individual players, or coaches.  Parents are the Sports Engine account holders, so they are the recipient of messages.
