Organizational Update

7/22/20

Dear Ohio Tide,

Thank you all for being a part of this inaugural season. We hope you have enjoyed being a member of Ohio Tide and appreciate the possibilities of being a part of this new organization. The entire coaching staff appreciates everyone’s hard work to restart the summer during this unprecedented time and your parental support in helping to get your Tide players to all the practices and games while also being their biggest fans.

We wanted to formally announce that as T.J. Donovan has remained the Head Coach of the 11U Blue Team, he is no longer serving in the role of Executive Director of Ohio Tide. We are extremely appreciative of everything T.J. has done for the organization and your players. If you have any questions on the direction of the club, please contact either the Director of Baseball Operations, Aaron Brandt, or the Chief Administrator, C.J. Musser.

In preparation for the 2021 season, Ohio Tide is re-assessing the structure of the organization in an effort to enhance the baseball program. We anticipate building on the successes of our inaugural season to continue our organization’s growth and your feedback is important in this evolvement. Tryouts and information for the 2021 season will be coming soon and we look forward to welcoming each of you back to the Tide family for year two.

We remain committed to the experience for all our players to provide a platform where student-athletes can achieve various levels of success, through character and physical development in a team-oriented atmosphere.

Coronavirus Team Re-Opening Update

5/22/20

Dear Ohio Tide Families,

We hope you had a nice week as we all continue to navigate these unprecedented times.  We are eager to get back to playing ball with all the recent statements of Governor DeWine’s, The Ohio Department of Health and Ohio High School Athletic Association regarding non-contact sports and school buildings. Please know through this process of re-opening responsibly, we are continuing to keep the safety of all our families and coaching staff at the forefront.

We are working towards finalizing our plans on how best to move forward throughout the summer and into the fall and wanted to share the following available updates as of Friday, May 22 4:00 PM EST.

  • New Normal – There will be a lot of changes in the works for all of your safety and we appreciate your support in advance of these new guidelines that will include but not limited to wearing face masks (outside of in field play), new game or practice flows with potentially smaller groups to allow for proper physical distancing, new equipment policies, and daily symptom assessments.
  • Re-Opening Start Date – For the safety of everyone, Ohio Tide will resume practices no earlier than the first half of June to ensure all updated safety protocol is fully implemented. More details will follow on the exact start date.
  • Practice & Game Schedules – The Coaching staff is hard at work with the multiple leagues and tournaments to come up with a condensed safe and enjoyable season. We are awaiting additional guidance and/or feedback from regulatory agencies and opponents to finalize each roster’s schedule.
  • Team Billing – Billing will continue to be paused until team activity is restored.
  • Your Feedback – As we are finalizing the season, your feedback would be helpful to gage the comfort level of our families and your needs from Ohio Tide during this unprecedented time. Stay tuned for a link to this survey early next week.

Thank you for your continued patience and partnership as we work to determine next steps to a safe start.
