Ohio Tide provides each team with coaches that have previous baseball experience. Once a team hits a threshold of committed players, we assign one of our coaches to the team. The 2025 Coaching staff will be announced in the fall.

Aaron Brandt

Aaron Brandt (Director of Baseball Operations)

Aaron Brandt has a long history in the local baseball community, dating from his playing days in the heyday of the Shaker boys league through his college years participating in the old Cleveland PD AAA semi-pro leagues.  After graduating from Hawken School, Brandt took his catcher’s mitt and bat down South to Guilford College, in Greensboro, NC. After three years in the program, a shoulder injury forced Brandt into a student-coach role as a Senior, giving him his first experience in that area of the game.

After graduating from Guilford, Brandt spent 2 seasons working in the front office of the Winston-Salem Spirits minor league baseball team, immersing himself in all areas of the business side of the team. During his tenure there, Brandt had the opportunity to pick the brain of some of the coaches, including future MLB manager and current Indians bench coach, Brad Mills, as well as numerous former major leaguers who were working as instructors in the Cubs system.

Upon his return to Northeast Ohio, Brandt started filling different coaching positions, ranging from youth Summer teams to the Middle School program at Hawken. In 2004, Brandt took over the high school program at Hawken and has served as the Manager of the Hawks since that time. Over that time period, Brandt’s teams have earned 216 wins, 6 conference Championships, and have qualified for District Finals 5 times. Brandt has also helped to send numerous players on to play collegiate ball, including four to Division 1 programs. Since 2015, Brandt has also juggled the task of coaching competitive Summer teams in multiple leagues.

Brandt resides in University Heights with his wife Kim and has three children - Lucas, Tanner and Annalise.
